El Fogón

El Fogón is a popular traditional Mexican restaurant in Acapulco's "Golden Zone." The décor is reminiscent of an old-fashioned hacienda. The menu has lots of beef, chicken and pork entrees as well as favorites like molcajete (fried and cured meat, sausage and chicken, with cheese, beans, chicarrón, nopal and avocado). The beer and "botanas" (snack foods) are just right for starting an evening out on the town. Often live music is provided at day's end. There are two locations, both on the Costera: one just west of the La Diana shopping center, and the other in Costa Azul, across from the Casa de Cultura.
