Club Regina is a Mexican timeshare development company that now owns and operates Villa Vera Acapulco, one of the legendary hotels from Acapulco’s grand era when it was really the only Mexican tourist destination on the Pacific Coast. The Raintree Vacation Club is the vehicle whereby members (fractional owners) can reserve their rooms. The hotel also gladly accepts reservations from non-members. In fact, anyone willing to receive a sales presentation from Club Regina can, if otherwise pre-qualified, receive a promotional discount on a three night stay.

For travelers not phased by the timeshare nature of the resort, Villa Vera has its classic beauty and charm, and also a newly remodeled, modern face. The emphasis is on sophistication and luxury in the "civilized" context of generations past.

The hotel is a quiet, upscale retreat, with a complete infrastructure and impeccable service. It is somewhat small, considering the completeness of its amenities, which include a full spa and gym, clay tennis courts and paddle tennis platforms. Just 59 different accommodations are available: six villas, and the remainder divided almost evenly between suites and rooms. Some of the villas have their own private pools. Villa Vera is considered a boutique hotel.

The Villa Vera Spa and Racquet Club, as it has traditionally been called, was established in 1950 on what locals call "the old Costera,” a higher vantage point on the rocks above Acapulco Bay and the beach. The hotel is about one-half kilometer above what has come to be known as "Playa Condesa." Before becoming a grand hotel, the Villa Vera was a private estate. It was the one-time haunt of the Hollywood set, and Lana Turner is said to have settled into Villa Vera for three years.
