Billing itself as “Acapulco's Boutique Destination Resort,” the Mirador is a traditional hotel in Acapulco’s “Traditional Zone,” and best known for the excellent views that can be had from its restaurant balcony of the famous Acapulco cliff divers at La Quebrada. From the hotel on one side guests can see the sun set in the Pacific Ocean, and on the other side, they and look down on Acapulco’s Santa Lucia Bay.

Perched on the crags above Acapulco, the hotel is a low-rise resort, which provides its guests with a sense of security and privacy not possible in the more modern, high-rise hotels. The various levels for pools, restaurant and rooms are accessible by a few stairs. There are no elevators or ramps. The setting in the mountainside is natural. An example of traditional Mexican design, the buildings are set into the mountain known as “La Mira” or lookout.

Children enjoy staying at the Mirador because of the three swimming pools and the ocean and bay views. Adults appreciate the personalized service and the attentive staff. The La Mira pool is at the top of the property, with commanding views. The Tulipanes pool, near the midpoint of the slope, offers sundecks and bar service. The “La Poza” grotto is at the ocean’s edge, protected by a breakwater. Here guests can swim in sea water and observe wildlife through the glass.

Two restaurants and two bars provide food and beverage service. Don Carlos serves a breakfast buffet complete with international and local Mexican options. It is all-you-can-eat for a single price. In addition to an omelet station, the chef can prepare fresh fish “a la talla” (with special chili rubs) or to the guests order, as well as the traditional local dish, pozole (made from hominy). The “La Perla” restaurant at the Mirador offers an exceptional vista of the famous cliff divers as they launch into the roiling waters of the Quebrada Cut far over 100 feet down. At La Perla guests can treat themselves to the freshest of seafood dishes, prepared in both traditional and modern styles, or they can choose any number of other tempting entrées from the international menu.

The rooms at the Mirador are spacious, private and separate, like small villas. Each has color TV with cable.

Guest services include security boxes, a message service, on-call medical service, a sundries shop/drug store, a jewelry and handicrafts shop, dry cleaning and laundry, babysitting services, and parking. A 24-hour car service to the airport is available. The reception desk provides concierge services for booking and confirming transportation and for arranging tours and tickets for local events.
