Right around the corner from Taberes is Chicas. I like the layout of Chicas. It's got a more loungy atmosphere with booths on different levels at one end and the stage on one wall at the other end. The décor was nice, with comfortable booths and faux-vegetation. The doormen here were dressed in black and wore gangster-style hats which I sort of didn't like as much (I generally don't like being around people that look like they're capable of giving someone a cement overcoat).

Like Tabares, there are TVs blaring porn, on-site rooms for the old in-out and showers where clients could oogle the girls as they bathe. Also like Tabares, Chicas now has a midget working there. I guess it's good to know that if you're a midget, there is gainful employment to be had here in Acapulco.

On this night, the girls here were, in my opinion, better looking that those at Tabares. The theme once again was young and thin with a few real stunners thrown in. One of the gangsters/waiters tried to fix me up with a, I have to say, drop dead gorgeous blonde with a perfect body, but I had to decline of course. "I'm from Monterrey" I explained to him. He sort of nodded and slowly walked off thinking about it.

I was soon involved in a conversation with another girl about among other things whether my nose looked European or American. She insisted that it looked European. My point was that the majority of Americans are of European ancestry so every form of nose was well represented there.

I also learned that a lot of girls that worked in Acapulco's strip clubs weren't actually from Acapulco but it was commonplace for girls to move to another city to work so their families didn't find out, so a lot of the Acapulco strippers were from other cities while, say, Mexico City probably has a lot fo girls from Acapulco. About this point, the DJ put on that nauseating Whitney Houston song "I will always love you" and that was my signal to ask for the check. It was already getting close to 1:00 am anyhow and I was already feeling sort of drunk (beer about $5 US). Besides, I way behind schedule.

The girls are amazing and If you are looking for a place that doesn't expect money just to breath, I would recommend it. Not to say that the staff doesn't deserve it, because they do. They were as accomodating as any five star resort that I have vacationed in. {I must say though, in case it actually gets through I still wonder about one girl..I won't reveal her name ,but she showed a Canadian guy wearing an Umbro shirt a few Spanish words, but more than that, and without anything else but that, A window into her life, it made my trip!because she seemed happy. I hope her mom is doing well in L.A. but I hope that she is doing better because she seemed like a sweetheart.
