Jobs in Acapulco

There are a few jobs that foreigners can do in Acapulco if they want to turn their vacation into an extended stay... but very few.

During high season, I've known many people how have gotten jobs with hotels or tour companies. These jobs are typically only available during high season, and in small numbers.

Another possible form of employment is teaching english in Acapulco. Native english speakers can get jobs with the various english language schools around town for about $8 to $10 per class.

If you're a great writer and researcher, Real Acapulco from time to time has work available, too.

The bottom line is that you can work in Acapulco, but work is often hard and wages quite low so be sure not to get pie in the sky ideas about economic oprtunities here for foreigners. If you get a job in Acapulco, you'll be living like a native Acapulqueños so don't expect to live the lifestyle of the rich and famous, but if you love Acapulco as much as I do... you won't know if you don't try. It worked for me, so I'm sure it can work for you, too.
