NavíoThis more of a small neighborhood dance club/bar located in the
working class Progresso area across from Parque Papagayo. It's open until about
6:00am and has a nice feel with faux-trees snaking around the club and a cool
cove-like booths. This is not a tourist bar, but a place for "la gente popular,"
or the common folk.
A variety of music is played ranging from typical
club stuff to 80s to modern Spanish rock. The crowd is a mix of young people,
couples and older single Mexican ladies looking to get picked up. I like it,
though it's not too rowdy and it's not too easy to meet people as the table
layout sort of segragates the crowd. It has a $30 peso cover and drinks are
about $25 pesos ($2.50 USD) a piece.
