Located in La Quebrada, this is classic Acapulco. Built in
1934, El Mirador as it's known around town, remains one of Acapulco's most
interesting hotels. What's great about it is it remains one of the few hotels in
traditional Acapulco that continues to prosper and whose glory hasn't faded.
Also, my terrace looks down on it from the nearby cliff so I see it every day.
If you stay here you'll get a chance to meet the cliff divers (and tip them to
be sure).
This is also the place where Acapulco's famous cliff divers
perform their feat. The hotel cascades down the jagged cliffs and has a
fantastic view of the sea. El Mirador offers 130 reasonably priced rooms with
air-conditioned, balconies, TV with DVD and mini-bar. It features two swimming
pools (one of which is salt water) and two great restaurants. Don Carlos is
frequented by the in-crowd while La Perla features live performers and a great
ocean view.
Nearby there are jewelry stores and boutiques, while the
hotel offers laundry, currency exchange, and gift shops.
