Hornos & Tamarindos Beaches
Playa Hornos, despite its similar name, playa Hornos has a bit more going on than Playa Hornitos. It's got nice palms and a stretch of restaurants that line the pleasant walkway nearby. It's got cool, clean sand and the water is a bit calmer than that in the Golden Zone. It appeals mainly to Mexicans, but also has a splash of tourists looking for a close-by escape from the busier Condesa and Icacos. I'm calling it Playa Hornos, but the coolest section in front of the Aca Mar Hotel is really called Playa Tamarindos. In fact there are so many beaches that even the locals aren't always sure which is which.
