Las Brisas, Acapulco, Mexico

Las Brisas, Acapulco

Real Acapulco decided to compose this little page to better inform visitors regarding Acapulco’s Las Brisas area as we notice a lot of folks are confused about the lay of the land and what Las Brisas is all about.

As most people know, Las Brisas is the wealthiest neighborhood in Acapulco and is characterized by multi-million dollar villas cascading down the hillside. It’s primarily a residential area with a few hotels, most notably Hotel Las Brisas, and a number of Acapulco’s top restaurants and nightclubs.

Las Brisas isn’t really one neighborhood per se, but more of a series of contiguous neighborhoods strung together across the hillside opposite the hotel zone starting after the Navy Base and continuing until Puerto Marques including roughly:

Joyas de Brisamar – a relatively affordable residential neighborhood.

Brisas Guitarrón – an often overlooked luxury residential area that has many affordable villas for rent.

Marina Las Brisas – a continuation of Brisas Guitarrón.

Club Residencial Las Brisas – the residential area also known as “upper Las Brisas”

Fraccionamiento Las Brisas – the residential also known as “lower Las Brisas”

Brisas Marqués – a still developing residential where Las Brisas ends and neighborhood like Pichilingue Joyas de Marquez, and La Cima take over before you get into Puerto Marques and Diamante.

The only way in or out of Las Brisas is via Scenic Highway (Carretera Escénica). It should be noted that Las Brisas is not pedestrian friendly and you can’t walk to the clubs, hotel zone, or beaches from Las Brisas due to the dangerous, and in our opinion short sighted, manner in which Scenic Highway was constructed. There are virtually no sidewalks or even shoulders in many parts of the highway that a pedestrian can use navigate its many blind turns. Attempting to walk on Scenic highway is dangerous and not recommended.

Authorized visitors can take a pleasant walk around the neighborhoods themselves which are beautiful, but you must “have business” there or security won’t permit you to enter.

One misnomer is that Las Brisas has good beaches. While there are a few villas that have a stretch of beach and a couple beach clubs, the area is largely devoid of beaches. It is famous for its wealth and it’s breathtaking views of the bay, especially at night. The best beaches in Acapulco are in Diamante, the Hotel Zone, and Pie de la Cuesta.

Hotels in the Las Brisas include:

Hotel Las Brisas – Club Residential Las Brisas
Park Royal Hotel – Brisas Guitarrón

Restaurants in Las Brisas include:
Madeiras ; Bellavista ; Kookaburra ; Baikal ; Casa Nova

Clubs and Bars in Las Brisas include:
