Quinta Rebecca

Quinta Rebecca

This is the most famous of Acapulco's brothels or "casas de cita" as they're known in Mexico. It's located in the Progreso at the top of a winding street inconspicuously located near the corner of Cuauhtémoc and Universitario. It's a climbing affair, but just stay left for about 2 minutes (by car) and you'll come upon a structure in the middle of the road that sort of opens like a big [insert your similes, metaphors, etc. here]  into a parking lot.

It's actually a quite pleasant, laid back and clean open air hotel with bar and waiters with some tables for visitors and such. You enter and the girls line up.  On this Saturday, there were about 15.  I'd say the quality of the merchandise ranged from 5 to 8 and the price is $150 USD which includes a room, condoms, etc.

I just had a quick drink with a friend before heading out and the bill came to $30 USD for a few beers so I guess I wouldn't recommend this place for lounging. They are open 24 hours.

As I understand it, there are about 5 other brothels in Acapulco, but as of this writing they have been closed due to failure to pay required payments to the controling legal authorites or for having underage girls or both.

Prostitution is completely legal in Acapulco so there is no need to fear being arrested, though perhaps one should maintain a healthy fear of catching something, cheating on one's wife/girlfiend, and perhaps the decades one will undoubably spend in purgatory for visiting places like Quinta Rebecca.  In fact, I think you'll have to do a year for just reading this.
