Bingo & Sports Betting in AcapulcoAcapulco, and Mexico more genrally has been flirting with the idea of legalizing gambling. In Acapulco, some marginal gambling has made and appearance on the scene in the form of Bingo games, sports betting, and offtrack hourse betting at the Bingo, Jai-Alai and Sports Book building lcoated on the Costera across from the Hyatt Regency. I've not been inside becuase I'm not really into bingo myself, but the hall is huge and can accomodate up to 450 people. It's open from 7pm-1am daily.
I just saw an add today that there is anewsportsbook/racebook in town as well with space in the Plaza Bahia, Acapulco's second biggest mall. Gambling is very much at the extreme margins of Acapulco, but Ihave heard talk of ful fledged casinos being opened in the future. Acapulco could really give Vagas a run for it's money if it wanted to, but then again, I sort of hope it doesn't try.
