Though the prices are enough to keep most folks away, but what the prices can't
accomplish, the doormen do. I really have a strong dislike for snobby,
stuck-up self-important doormen at nightclubs and believe me Baby'o has them in
spades. Then again, Baby'O is the place for the rich and famous or at least
those that wish they were rich or famous and I guess they want to keep it that
way.
Baby'O is quite pricey and caters to Acapulco's most exclusive party set. Reservations
are generally needed and most often only socios (members) or their friends
can get in.
Bono of U2 and Luis Miguel were both there not long ago on the same night. Luis
was being a bit aloof and standoffish until he saw how accessible and friendly
Bono was acting toward the autograph seekers (and how much attention he was getting)
and quickly changed his tune as he was apparently not satisfied playing second
fiddle to Bono. Sorry I missed that one. The thing about Baby'O is that you're
unlikely get scenes like this one anywhere else in Acapulco and that's what makes
Baby'O unique. (Well, that and its hideous looking exterior that screams out Baby'O
in giant faux-stone lettering.)
