Cafe Wadi is not the easiest place to find for those new to town. It's located a few blocks behind the Sandborn's nearest the Zocalo right around the corner from Acapulco's big central market, the Tepito Mercado de Artesanias.
This unasuming corner store with its small staff sweating away behind the counter in the unairconditioned space is real Acapulco. Though you can get a cup, it's best for those looking to buy a bag. They have over a dozen blends.
While Cafe Wadi is not a must see for a tourist to Acapulco any more than a Starbucks is for a Mexican visiting the States, it is a must for any Acapulco resident who can tell the difference between a Nescafe and gourmet roast.
