In my opinion, Fiarmont's Acapulco Princess is the best hotel in Acapulco. That is, best if you mean most luxurious and not best as in most affordable. It's a 1017 room, 16 floor extravaganza built that was built in 1972. It is also located on one of my favorite beaches Revolcadero Beach and boasts what may be Acapulco's best golf course. This hotel has all the trappings of a world class luxury resort from great food and in its dance club Yuca to boutiqes, jacuzzis and everything lese a discrening guest would want. Howard Hughes chose this hotel during his final days. All that and it looks like an Aztec temple. What I like best it that it is located on a huge estate of some 500 acres that interlopers like me seem to be allowed to wander around at their leisure.
Despite its faboulesness, it's located a good ride from the city proper in the newly developed Diamante section of town and it lacks any real connectedness to Acapulco or to Mexican culture. You might not even relize you're in Mexico when there. When I need a break and want to get away from Acapulco, I'll rent a room there for a couple days.
It can accomodate meetings of up to 2000 peeople.
Rates run between $130 to $200 for their moderate rooms for one or two adults; for three $180 to $240 for three adults; and $220 to $280 for the room capacity four adults.
Their Fairmont, Fairmont Ocean View, and One Bedroom Suits start at $160, $200, and $430 for one adult and run up to $250, $300, and $600 for four adults, respectively.
Rates are lower in the low season.
And, as they tell it themselves: "Outside, five free-form swimming pools - one a saltwater lagoon - grace the property, surrounded by gardens containing over 750 plant species and sheltering a colorful assortment of swans, flamingoes and tropical birds." Ya can't beat that... wouldn't even want to try.
