| Bars in the Condesa, Acapulco |
Barba Roja

That's Red Beard to you an me. This Acapulco bar is
located in the Condesa and really attracts a lot of tourists. I think it
attracts a lot of tourists for two reasons. First, because it gets started very
early and we gringos are used to starting the evening early before being kicked
out a 2:00am. Secondly, because it looks like a big pirate ship and has an
open and inviting feel to it. Plus, I don't know about you, but I know
every time I see a big faux-private ship, I'm overcome with and insatiable urge
to come aboard. Sure, happens all the time.
I'm not a frequent
patron of Barba Roja because the far rowdier Baby Lobster Bar is just
down the street and, what can I say, I'm rowdy. Still, it's a good place to kick
back a few and watch the crowds passing by. Barba Roja plays a variety of pop
music and carters to a slightly older crowd. No cover, prices reasonable. All
good.
