The Parador del Sol was built in 1990 to fill a gap by
offering luxurious accommodations for those that enjoy the seclusion and rustic
feel of Acapulco's Pie de la Cuesta area. The hotel has 150 very private
bulgalow-style rooms surrounded by gardens.
Parador del Sol has a great
tropic location in between the big Coyuca lagoon and the open ocean. Out here,
one can go horseback riding, take boat rides on the lagoon, and have the huge,
largely virgin beaches to roam. The is a great spot for ecotourists yet it also
has lively nightlife activities including a disco and restaurant. It also has a
swimming pool, tennis courts, a basketball court, and an open buffet.
Parador del Sol is an all-inclusive resort, which in this case is good
because it's a long ride into town. Other amenities include concierge, boating
and sailing options, and babysitting. Rooms have telephones and satellite TV.
It's pricey at between $150 and $200 a night, but you'll not find better
lodging out at Pie de la Cuesta and the spot is the tops and I love it.
