El Malecón
Would a seaside town in tropical Latin America really be complete without a Malecón? I think not. What is a Malecón? It's a seaside boarwalk or avenue and Acapulco has a great one over in its old section. Very lively with all sorts of characters hanging around selling things and a good place to get a discount boat ride.
Spanish lesson: Don't confuse "Malecón" with "Mericón" which is something else entirely.
