Sombrero IIThis second tier Acapulco strip club is located a couple doors down from Tabares II in the Papagayo area -an area that features over half a dozen strip clubs, all about the same level of quality - so,so.
The hawkers in the area can be pretty agressive about ttrying to get you inside so if you not up for a bit of pressure, it's best to steer clear of the area. If you're obviously a foreigner of some type, they will be on you like... you know the expression.
When I walked in, I noticed it was pretty dark, very smokey, and sort of sleazy. It was equal parts Mexican cantina and high end strip club. It was also packed and everyone was excited and rowdy.
As I entered, there was a girl on every table dancing, maybe about a dozen or so. Very sexy scene. I was seated and quickly ordered a Corona ($4.50 USD). Within about 10 minutes, all the girls seemed to disappear. Also, it seemed to take a very long time for a new girl to hit the stage after the other one departed. You'd see some guy up there with a mop and a screen would come down from the ceiling that showed soccer and that. Hmmmmm.
Everyone seemed to be having a good time. The guys were drunk as all hell and grabbing the waitresses, yelling and dancing. One guy was in the back dry humping one of the girls who was spread over the table as if she were in invisible gynecology stirrups.
Sombrero II seems more of a place to get rowdy with your buddies and less of a place to oogle girls, but good fun all in all. I'd rate is about Samanthas for the fun atmosphere, but far below Tabares for sure.
