Filming
in
Acapulco

Acapulco is one of the major ports on the Pacific Coast of Mexico, which in this
area runs roughly from east to west. Visited by 5 or 6 cruise liners per week,
numerous international flights (only from the US) and thousands of Mexican tourists,
it is not your sleepy fishing village (although that can be arranged…) and is
built round one of two adjacent horse shoe shaped bays.
Acapulco is regularly used as a location for film, TV and photo shoots by companies
from all over the world. There is a wealth of potential locations and enough available
hotel rooms to simultaneously accommodate 10 feature film crews, whatever their
budgets.
The city is 45 minutes by plane, 4 hours by car and 5 by truck, and while not having much of a film infrastructure, is easily serviced by Mexico City, which is well supplied with the necessary personnel and materiel for a project of any size.
The area can rely on at least 300 days of sunshine per annum and has the closest beaches to Mexico City.
CASTING
There are several casting agencies who may not be up to finding potential local superstars but are quick and efficient in finding extras of all shapes and sizes.
LOCATIONS:
Beaches - varying from busy teeming holiday downtown style to miles and miles of empty sands, with or without buildings.
Quiet private beaches with waves rarely over 6 inches high to big(ish) Pacific Surf.
Sunsets although short, are not bad either…
Just inland on either side of the city are calm, photogenic lagoons…. covering vast areas.
Villas with infinity pools…
Luxury Hotels
And interiors of every style imaginable.
And of course the famous Acapulco Divers
Acapulco as nearby areas offers a diversity can be used as a location to shoot
a variety of locations from the traditional Latin American town square, sleepy
countryside settings, jungle, and desert to the extreme wealth or its palatial
villas and exclusive restaurants and nightlife.
