Grand Meigas Acapulco

The Grand Meigas was built in 1949 and was for many years one of Acapulco's top hotels. Though times have changed, the hotel is one of the few hotels in traditional Acapulco to continue to offer amenities that rival its cousins in the Golden Zone. Located near overlooking Caleta Beach and with a view of La Isla de la Roqueta, this hotel offers an affordable all-inclusive option for those who find the in your face tourism of the Golden Zone a put off.

The hotel has 255 air-conditioned rooms set on 9 floors. All rooms have cable/satellite TV, microwaves, maids, safes, and balconies view a direct and beautiful view of the sea. The hotel decorations are a bit spartan but it offers good amenities including babysitting, laundry, dry cleaning, currency exchange, beauty salon, spa, gym, scuba diving, and fishing. It has a nice garden terrace overlooking the sea and is a stone's through away from the beach.

Grand Meigas or Caleta Hotel, 2005-12-08

After going to Acapulco for many years and visiting Caleta beach we were always looking at the Caleta Hotel now known as the Grand Meigas Hotel, but if I’m right they are changing their name back to the Caleta. So finally in 2003 we stayed at the Grand Meigas and truly enjoyed our self.

I know that this hotel will not be for everyone as it is not in the action of today, but if you love traditional locations and the people of the area then you will love this place. We loved it here as we got to party with all the locals on the beach just about every evening.
