Tequi Sol

Tequi Sol Bar, is a tiny bar with a large, plate glass front, found on the Costera just west of the traffic circle at the Convention Center. Some tourists have named it "the fish bowl” because it is so cozy, with the large glass wall looking out onto the avenue. Sometimes there is a mannequin outside, dressed in pirate costume or a Mexican hat with cartridge belts. This is a sign that the place is friendly and full of fun. Tequisol is very popular with tourists, especially for a cold one after walking around and admiring the port city. Tequila, of course, is a specialty, and it is best served as a fancy margarita, with your choice of fresh fruit ingredients. Try the mango if you’ve not had it before. They open early at Tequisol (9am) and stay open late (2am). The bartenders are attractive young women, which helps to define the type of customer who enjoys going there. The music is great, accompanied by videos on liquid crystal displays. Tequisol is also a good place to catch a sporting event, if you’re early enough to get a good seat, and settle in with great drinks and snacks.
