What do you think is the biggest factor in Acapulco's dramatic fall in tourism?

Ten years ago Alaska Airlines used to fly directly into Acapulco, so credit some level of incompetence to the local tourism industry for assuming they could sit back and do nothing but rely on the city's long gone reputation as a hot spot.

PRI can take credit for years and years of political corruption which allowed the drug trade to flourish and become part of the establishment. American banks like Wachovia/Bank of America can be thanked for laundering money for the cartels, as well as American's appetite for drugs, and our country's ass-wipe drug and weapons policies.

It didn't help that, when the cartels started butchering each other's little people in Acapulco proper, the media and tourist industry fell all over themselves telling everybody that only the poor brown trash were getting sliced and diced, but NOT IN THE TOURIST ZONE, so bring your money and join the charade that nothing is happening. Everybody was more than happy to reach into the cartel toilet for their own wad of shit covered blood money, and this is the result. I'm truly sorry to see the beautiful city spiraling down the drain, but I won't set foot there again until someone flushes that toilet.

I also realize this won't get posted because we're all expected to kiss their festering ass holes, but at least I got this off my chest.

I THINK THE REASON NO ONE COMES TO ACAPLCO IS THAT THERE ARE REALLY NO DIRECT FLIGHTS, CHARTERS OR EASILY REACHED FLIGHTS TO ACAPULCO
