Most tourists understand Japanese cuisine to mean either sushi or teppanyaki-style dishes, flamboyantly prepared on a hot steel griddle right before the eyes of the dinner guests. In Acapulco, both styles are available, as well as an array of Japanese dishes of a more traditional variety. You can go to a casual sushi bar or to a more elegant, full-service Japanese restaurant.

Sushi Itto

If you have a craving for sushi or other Japanese favorites, like tempura, teppanyaki, maki, and sashimi, Sushi Itto one of the few solutions to the problem in Acapulco. Sushi Itto can deliver your order to your house, condo or hotel room. Found on the Costera in the Casa Inn in Costa Azul, Sushi Itto offers an authentic taste of Japan. The Sushi Itto in Acapulco is one of several restaurants in the family, found also in Mexico City and in several other Mexican resorts.

Suntory

The teppanyaki at Suntory competes on a level with any fine Japanese restaurant elsewhere in the world. The food is specially prepared, with great ritual and style, before the guests at a large grill right at the table. Suntory also offers many other of Japan's famous and delicious culinary treats, including sushi, all prepared from the freshest of ingredients, flown in daily. Suntory reminds one of a large Japanese house, especially the garden, where one can go to sit in peace for a while or see the colorful fish in the pond, which is spanned by a rustic footbridge.
