The Ibiza Lounge (right next door to Disco Beach and operated by the same owners)
is very popular local hangout, especially for couples, as it is a little bit
more secluded than most of its neighbors on the Condesa Beach strip of the Costera.
The lights are low, and there is a choice between the air-conditioned indoors
with really comfortable couches, or outdoors in tents (with cushions) on the beach.
The theme of this lounge is to recreate Spain’s famous Isle of Ibiza, known
for its “anything goes” attitude.
For fans of retro music and for those recapturing days of youth, B & B is the place to go, where they specialize in music from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. The environment is warm and inviting, with a huge dance floor, which is always filled with lots of people, many of home truly “dance all night.” For those wanting smoother sounds and slow dancing, the upstairs portion of this club is the place to go, where slow songs from the 60’s are the order of the day. This club can hold about 800 persons.
Classico del Mar refers to itself as a "deck and disco boutique." Fair enough.
Deck, because of the large rooftop deck where patrons can lounge about while admiring
the spectacular panorama of Acapulco bay over a bottle of Dom Perignon. Boutique,
because Classico del Mar goes above and beyond with uncommonly lavish and comfortable
furnishings complete with chandeliers and a sumptuous bar. And, of course, disco
because this is a modern disco complete with smoke, laser lights and thumping
bass, despite all the tiki and the bamboo.
One of the liveliest and most festive clubs in Acapulco’s nocturnal scene is Club Circulos. The place is very modern, with minimalist décor and comfortable surroundings, with dim light and sofas and day beds that create the atmosphere of a modern lounge. The music -- often from a live cover band -- will be top 40 with a few oldies, in both English and Spanish. Music videos are projected on several screens. Wednesdays are the special night for movies and snack. Thursdays and Fridays are given over to live rock, and Saturdays, live music, mainly pop.
Libido Bar VIP is really an elegant lounge that offers its guests a variety of entertainment options, from pool tables on the second floor, to karaoke fun with a group of friends, to listening to a wide range of music. The selections vary from Latin to rock, pop and top 40. The ambiance is that of comfort, with spacious sofas and chairs and accented with warm and exotic tropical woods. The lounge portion is truly good for conversation in a relaxing and tranquil atmosphere. The bar is fully equipped and well prepared to stir up any one of a large number of martinis, the house specialty.
Mandara, formerly Enigma, is Palladium only less so. It's also a bit smaller, but the rest is basically the same.
Steep cover, open bar, nice view of the bay, techno and house, young trendy crowd.
It's located almost next door to Palladium.
Baby’O is a relatively small club, with room for about 250 guests. It has been around for more than thirty years, and bears the stamp of the classic and classy discotheque of the 1980’s..Baby’O is perhaps Acapulco’s most exclusive and most famous discotheque. Here the guest can rub elbows with many well-known personalities from the world of sports and entertainment, both Mexican and international.
The ambiance is one of a great party, with music that samples many different genres, though modern rhythms predominate.
Located right in the middle of Condesa Beach and on the Costera, surrounded by countless bars, Disco Beach offers the feeling of a wild and crazy party all the time. Friday is especially busy, as it is foam fight night. The best choice of dress is shorts and sandals. Dance wherever you like -- there is a dance floor, but many just go outside to dance and party on the beach, overlooking Acapulco's beautiful bay. The cover is fairly low, which includes an open bar (national beverages), and thus Disco Beach attracts a crowd mainly between 18 and 25 years of age.
Zucca is an Acapulco disco located on the Las Brisas hillside overlooking the
bay, roughly across Scenic Highway from Palladium. Zucca is a smallish disco that
plays retro music and caters to crowd that's a little older, a little less fast,
and maybe a little better off then the Palladium crowd. Zucca is a good place
to go in high-season, but in low season it can be a bit on the empty side even
on a Friday night. It's a cool disco with a great view and maybe a better option
for those who like to go clubbing but want to avoid the younger crowd.
An “alebrije” is a small animal figure made in the tradition of the indigenous people of Mexico, usually out of clay, and brightly painted. In 1998, after a great success in Mexico City, the nightclub named “El Alebrije” came to Acapulco, at the end of the Costera Alemán across from the Hyatt Regency. It has become an icon of the bay, especially during Spring Break. It is also a great place for tourists and twenty-somethings with a budget for upscale diversions.
