Middle Eastern Cuisine

The term “Middle Eastern cuisine” (gastronomía del oriente medio) is really a catch-all phrase for many different cuisines in the Middle East, including Arab, Persian, Turkish, Greek, Egyptian, Israeli and others. Though climate and culture makes them all quite distinct, they share a tendency to use pita bread, honey, sesame seeds, sumac, chickpeas, mint and parsley. Lebanese cooking is considered especially healthy because it employs vegetarian recipes with a minimum of processed ingredients. Lebanese food also makes much use of cereals and legumes, nuts, fruits and vegetables.
