A US citizen wishing to live in Mexico must provide proof of income at 300 times the daily wage in Mexico City, (three months of bank statments)Provide a certified letter fron local police department indicating no criminal record, a valid US passport and must pay a fee to a mexican bank to establish a trust in order to purchase a place to live near any coast or border. This fee can be several thousand dollars but it does not end. EACH YEAR THE US CITIZEN MUST PAY THE BANK A FEE AND IT INCREASES A SMALL PERCENTAGE EVERY YEAR. There is no service provided buy the bank other then keeping the documents of the property (DEED). This "TRUST" fee is in addition to the property tax.
A leagal Mexican immigrant can purchase proprty anywhere in the USA without additional and yearly "TRUST" fees to a bank. Where is the equality here????
