Chinese cuisine (called “cocina china” in Spanish) is usually thought of as that distinctive mix of flavors of beef, pork, chicken or shrimp with vegetables and rice in a thick sauce, known as chow mein (with rice), chop suey (with crispy noodles) or lo mein (with soft noodles). Other distinctive dishes are egg rolls and wonton soup. This cuisine is known the world over because of a great migration from southern China that took place over 100 years ago. In Acapulco, only one restaurant offers Chinese cuisine: San & Town in Costa Azul.
San & Town is by the church in Costa Azul. It is a popular place among locals
looking for good Chinese and Japanese cuisine. The large, air-conditioned dining
room is inviting, with a Chinese fountain at the far end, set with small tables
and just right for a pre-dinner drink or appetizer. The sushi is authentic and
fresh; the chow mein, egg rolls and sweet and sour dishes are really the best
in Acapulco.
